How we collect, use, and protect your information. Plain language, no legalese.

We collect only what we need to run your club. We never sell your data or show you ads. Payments go through Stripe — we never see your card details. You own your data and can delete it anytime.
Account information — When you create a Somple account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
Club information — If you create a club, we collect the club name, description, category, location, logo, and banner images you provide.
Payment information — When you connect Stripe, Stripe collects and processes your banking and financial information directly. Somple does not store credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or Social Security numbers. We store only your Stripe account ID to facilitate payments.
Usage data — We collect basic analytics about how you use Somple, including pages visited, features used, and interactions with your club. This helps us improve the product.
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Somple. Specifically:
To create and manage your account and clubs
To process payments through Stripe on behalf of club owners
To send transactional emails (confirmations, receipts, invitations)
To respond to your support requests and messages
To analyze usage patterns and improve our product
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your information with third parties except as described in this policy.
With club members — When you join a club, the club owner can see your name, email, and membership status. Other members may see your name and profile photo.
With Stripe — We share necessary information with Stripe to process payments. Stripe's use of your information is governed by their own privacy policy.
With service providers — We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, database, and hosting. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
When required by law — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. This includes encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure authentication via Firebase, and access controls on our internal systems.
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
Club data (somplings, posts, member lists) is retained as long as the club exists. When a club is deleted, all associated data is removed.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. You can do this through your account settings or by contacting us.
Access — You can view and export your data from your account settings.
Correction — You can update your profile information at any time.
Deletion — You can request account deletion by contacting us at privacy@sompleit.com.
Portability — You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
Somple uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Somple is not intended for users under the age of 21 for alcohol-related clubs, or under 18 for all other club types. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of Somple after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
